Quick pick me up (2021)
Quick pick me up (2021)

Original Acrylic on canvas measures 87/87cm hardwood framed POA

Quick pick me up' pays homage to past discussions or should I say lectures that I would unwittingly attend early every morning whilst replenishing stock with a fellow work colleague.
Each day would start out with the most far out conspiracy theory the World Wide Web could eagerly churn out. Indignant in his defence, these early morning interventions inevitably would round off with a "check out www...." and whilst I whittled away in the studio for the remainder of each day, I'd chew through this conspiratorial information wondering about these often elaborate cover ups. Perhaps more importantly why my commerade had chosen to believe in and even practice some of these questionable alternatives.
After a year or so I felt I'd served my sentence of obscenely early morning starts, my artwork had started to support me financially. It was time to leave .
As much as I'm still an early riser I've never missed those early morning shifts but I definitely miss those fantastical conversations, the generosity of Mr Beech’s story telling brightened up those mundane early mornings and fed my imagination for the remaining day.

A kindness hard to quantify but undeniably hugely appreciated.
