For the last couple of months I’ve found myself revisiting art history lectures whilst I paint. When I finished my degree in fine art ( many moons ago) I openly admit I’d had my fill of the so called fine art market. I definitely didn’t believe in the mass majority of it! The vast sums of money exchanged for deliberately controversial nonsense was hugely distracting and at the time painting was constantly being hung out to dry.. Inevitably as I’ve more recently navigated through the history of different movements “ism’s” I revisited Warhol and all that he colourfully contributed to art world.
